Are you ready to step back in time and experience one of the most pivotal moments in Floyd County’s history? The Battle of Middle Creek Reenactment is just around the corner, and this year’s event promises to be more exciting and immersive than ever! Taking place from September 6th through the 8th, this annual event invites you to witness living history, honor the past, and enjoy a weekend full of activities for the whole family.
A Rich History Brought to Life
The Battle of Middle Creek, fought on January 10, 1862, was a significant moment in the Civil War, particularly in the Appalachian region. This event has been
commemorated since 2005 by the Friends of Middle Creek, who have worked tirelessly to revitalize the battlefield and turn it into an annual gathering for history enthusiasts, reenactors, and the local community.
From humble beginnings, the event has blossomed into a large-scale reenactment that draws participants from across the country. Whether you’re a history buff or simply looking for an engaging way to spend your weekend, this event offers something special.
