Calendar Events Guidelines
The primary goal of our Calendar of Events is to inspire travel to Prestonsburg and the Appalachian Region while helping visitors plan their trips. Local organizations are welcome to submit their events for free inclusion.
At Prestonsburg Tourism, we appreciate your consideration of our Calendar of Events for sharing your planned activities. Keeping the calendar up-to-date is crucial, as many visitors plan their trips around local happenings. Please note, this calendar is dedicated to public events, with a focus on special and unique offerings.
To maintain a vibrant and relevant calendar, here are a few guidelines:
- One-time or annual events and live concerts are encouraged and will be approved based on the provided details.
- Classes and tours will be considered based on the information submitted.
- Before submitting, use the search feature to ensure the event isn’t already listed. Updates to event details or photos are welcome.
Examples of approved events:
- Theatrical shows and dramatic presentations
- Creative art exhibits and shows
- Music events
- Festivals and fairs – art, food and beverage, etc
Workshops
Example of events that would be declined:
- Political events – rallies, meetings, campaign events, etc
- Local Resident Events – neighborhood meetings or council meetings
- Events outside of our Appalachian region
- Local school and church services
Please note, our site uses a 16:9 photo format. Any photo submitted is subject to size changes and cropping to fit the format best.
