710 lucky people will win an exclusive permit to hunt elk in eastern Kentucky at the live lottery drawing. As eastern Kentucky is home to the second largest elk population in the country, it’s only natural for the MAC in Prestonsburg to host the event. A record number of applications were submitted by more than 35,000 people from as far as Alaska and Hawaii. 700 names will be announced for the general quota elk hunting permits and 10 names for the youth quota. In addition to the drawing, the event will also host vendors, music, food, and giveaways.
